I understand owls come out at night ans also are good at camouflage, but where do they go in the daytime? Why have I never seen one in real life???

chances are you just arent at the right place right time. ive seen alot of owls in day and night (night obviously being harder because its dark for us). daytime owls you just need to know where to look. i saw them because i knew where they were nesting. barn owls were up in a box in a tree. burrowing owls were on the ground in a preserve. they are actually still awake and “active” during the day. just not as active as they are at night.

so, looking for an owl to see in the day, you will need to know where its nesting so you have the general idea incase it comes out because it will be less active during the day so you need to know in advance where to look

for seeing an owl at night, thats very hard. owls usually fly very silently and camouflage well with thier surroundings, but chances are you have heard one out calling.

if you really want to see one out in the wild in person i recommend checking out your local audubon chapter or other birding groups near you
