: If the chip of a credit/debit card is not internet connected, when you block it via The Mobile Bank app, how does the contactless POS knows that your card is blocked?

Even if the POS is done wirelessly, the card “number” still has to be transmitted and approved, as if the card was swiped. Contactless payment only changes the way that the card “number” is transferred. Blocking the number rejects any requests for payment on the network/bank side.
