Did you know that people used to be able to buy things with pennies?
Now many countries have started to remove pennies because inflation has made them worthless.
Well some countries went through some bad times and had really bad inflation and/or loss of faith in their money.
So inflation made their 1 dollar notes like the penny, so they started printing notes with bigger numbers on them, just so they could be easily used. (EG you don’t have to buy a loaf of bread with stack of notes the size of a paper back novel)
Indonesia has had a series of bad financial problems in the second half of the 20th century that lead to them inflating the currency a lot.
