A photon with a shorter wavelength is vibrating back and forth faster than a photon with a longer wavelength. Higher frequency = shorter wavelength. Higher frequency also means more energy is carried by the photon.

Photons that are very high in energy have greater potential to do stuff like ionize atoms (as in ionizing radiation being damaging to DNA) or break molecular bonds (like when O2 is broken into individual oxygen molecules by high energy cosmic rays that then reform into O3).
