I was exploring Integration and time integrals and was wondering about the time integral of distance. I looked it up and found out that it was a measure called Absement.
The only information about absement that I could understand about it is that it is the product of distance and time which only confused me more.
In: Physics
Velocity is the rate of change of position
Acceleration is the rate of change in velocity
Going the other way, position is rate of change of absement
It doesn’t really correspond to something physical like velocity or acceleration, but it is often used control systems, since a high absement means that the actual position is different than the desired position by a large amount/for a long time
