What is the use of recaptcha, why would a robot create a Nintendo account, even if it did why are we stopping it?

One common use of (ro)bots is spam. Not sure if you can chat in Nintendo.
Another potential use in the games is harvesting in-game currency (gold, rewards, achievement points, etc), for use by bot-runner or selling to other players. This means unfair advantage, opportunity for scamming, or just lost revenue for Nintendo if it sells same currency through its own store.
