The term is a bit flexible, but it generally refers to someone that does the sport for a living.
The border between Pro and Amateur is a bit fuzzy. Pro’s in niche sports often have a day job to make ends meet, and if an amateur winds a 1000 or so in a tournament, you won’t instantly call them pro.
