Same type of analysis, conducted by humans and calculators. The logic doesn’t change much – you look for indicators relevant for your investment strategy.
The same ideas as today. Company balance sheets and disclosures were analyzed by humans, who pitched their bosses on what they thought was going to happen. Everything moved much more slowly, of course, since most people got their data from the financial section of the paper every morning.
