whats the science behind people with “high metabolism”? Where does the energy go when they eat way above their maintenance caloric level?

My cousin is like that and the dude eats WAY more than i do and we’re pretty much same height. Yet i weigh around 95kg and he weighs no more than 80kg.

There is only two outcomes. He doesn’t actually eat as much as you think. Or he has serious trouble absorbing it.

The fast/slow metabolic rates that the general public seem to believe are genetic lottery is bullshit. The total number of cells you have dictate your passive needs. Level of activity(sleeping vs running up stairs) dictate your immediate rate of metabolised energy.

So with that in mind, your short women vs your tall man shows a total cell count difference that explains their TDEE differences given an equal activity level. And fat cells count as needing energy too. So if you weight 95kg and he was 80, you have more fat cells and thus a higher passive metabolic demand in keeping them alive.

The overweight and obese among us that claim their skinny friends have a fast and themselves slow don’t understand their situation is reversed.
