Nope, they don’t care. That’s why the ones who can kill do it, and the vast majority of people can’t. It’s a mix of lacking conscience/remorse, and also not having the capacity to care about consequences at the time. They might care once they’re caught, but only about how that affects their ability to do whatever they want. Nothing about their victims though, because psychopaths are narcissistic to the point that they don’t see other people as people in the holistic sense of the word (consciousness, autonomy, family, things they care about, etc.), they’re just tools. Most psychopaths are good at pretending to have all these feelings though, because they quickly learn they need to pretend to fit in.
It’s hard to truly understand what that would all feel like though because we have such a greater range of emotions and reactions than they do.
