Socialisation. Cockroaches are often found in rotten environments, so we associate them with rotten environments, and we really don’t like the idea that the place we are in is littered with filth and decay. We don’t like cockroaches because we think cockroaches mean our house is dirty.

Also we feel inferiority towards their beautiful sleek shells, which humans don’t have.
