Why do our brains suddenly look at a word we’ve known our whole lives and think it’s spelled wrong even though it’s clearly correct?

Because practice doesn’t make perfect. Practice makes progress. Stop practicing and you REgress. Yeah you learned this shit in 2nd grade and you haven’t tried to spelled it since, of course you’re gonna fuck it up and misspell
