Why do some Western trailers from films differ from eastern? (not language, scene wise)

So heres the deal. I was watching the trailer for “Lupin the third: the first” and It was the dubbed version for the trailer, however, when I found the original Japanese one, some scenes were different.

I thought this would be a one-time thing, but I was watching the trailer for Turning red, and the release for japan had different scenes than the US and the rest of the world trailers.

So why does this happen?

Different cultures tend to favour different things. So production companies will tailor what is shown in their trailers to suit the local preferences.

Where customer research shows action films are preferred, they will show clips that allow off the action elements, where romance or dramas rate highly, they will show clips that highlight those scenes, or comedy scenes, or the big pretty cinematic shots and so on.
