because you are unconscious, you have no perception of anything.

That and without an external reference, humans are exceptionally bad at tracking time at all

We do have time perception, when you wake up you’ll usually know roughly how much you’ve slept.

We have more precise time perception while awake because we can constantly know what time is it.

I had a full anaesthetic and that really has no time perception.

It was like “10, 9, 8, 7, can I go home now?” 2 hours gone in 6 seconds.

We don’t really even have perception of time while awake too. We lack an internal mechanism that keeps track of time and our “perception of time” is akin to an illusion created from external observable factors and our brain’s love of chronology when it comes to memories, meanwhile while sleeping you can’t really observeanything external nor can you remember something that you can’t percieve, so there is no way for this illusion to form.
