Why do we use Liters/ml for liquids instead of kilograms/g?

As the title says, why do we use Liters/milliliters for liquids instead of kilograms/grams?

Liters is a measure of quantity like how much of this. Grams is a weight measure and liquids vary widely in their weight because some are denser than others.
