Why do words sound weird if you repeat them over and over?

I feel like when you start saying random words, like over over over over over over over over over over over over over over over over over over over over over over over over over over over over, over doesn’t really seem like English anymore does it? And then you start thinking, “who made this sound o – v – e – r a word? In short, I feel like as we repeat words over and over again, the word in a way becomes primitive and it just sounds like you are making noises rather than an actual word.
