Also Crayon particles are a bit like wax and smaller particles cling together, while the whole chunk breaks free from the crayon (which leaves the color). Then the crayon does not habe a smooth surface anymore, so ,ou don’t habe the color on your whole surface of the sheet anymore (holes are coming into existence). The process repeats over and over: chunks of crayon breaking up and getting pressed on paper, then the next chunks don’t cover the same width as bevore due to a new geometry.
It’s the natural grooves and pits in the paper. It’s noticeable with crayons because the crayon just covers the surface and doesn’t absorb into the paper like ink does.
