Why does crayon writings/scribbles have holes in them?

You know. When you color in stuff using crayons, there will always be gaps or holes. Why?

It’s the natural grooves and pits in the paper. It’s noticeable with crayons because the crayon just covers the surface and doesn’t absorb into the paper like ink does.
