Procrastination is a lack of inspiration. It happens because we don’t want to perform a menial task. We would understandably rather do something we enjoy doing. It is exacerbated by depression; it’s hard to care about the rewarding feeling you get when you complete a task when you are down, which is a real catch 22. (Tip: if a task seems overwhelming, consider partially completing the task. You will have a smaller rewarding feeling, but that is still rewarding, and you will be closer to the end goal. Sometimes you will finish anyway because what was hardest was to *start* the task, but now you’ve got the gears moving, you can power through it.)
