Why does the pinky toe throw such a hissy fit when you accidentally bump it into something?

There’s another thread right now, ‘how does pain hurt.’ Everything is designed for a purpose/intent. Toes weren’t designed to smash into things. So, regardless of which toe, or which finger, or your head, if you jam it the wrong way (usually what I’ve heard it called) it’ll hurt incredibly or worst case break.
