Why is it that we don’t taste, say honey, when we put it on our tongues until we move it around our mouths?

I’m pretty sure the big majority of taste comes from our noses. If you pinch your nose, you won’t be able to really tell the difference between a potato and an apple. Moving it around in your mouth, similar to swooshing wine around while inhaling, brings the smell and flavor into the nasal passage.
