Why is it that when a lot of people sing together the voice is deeper than the average tone?

Like, there are all these wellerman collaborations of thousands of people amd some have deep voices and some high pitched but someone together they sound low pitched

It’s not like TikTok collaborations are properly balanced and mixed. Anybody can join in on those. You’re probably just not hearing the higher voices well enough.

If you listen to a professionally recorded choir who has the correct balance of parts you probably won’t perceive it the same as a TikTok.
