I know there are hammers for additional use like the once for pulling wood closer or lifting a nail out but i have no idea why there is that flat pointy end on a normal hammer

It depens on the type of hammer.

There are carpenters hammers, where the pointy end (“Finne” in germany, i dont know if its just called “fin” in englisch) is split. so you can draw nails out of wood.

Tile hammers have a very pointy finn, so you can use it to split..well, tiles.

Mason hammers have a hardened pointy end, to use it as a chisel.

So everything has its use.

There is also a tack hammer or upholstery hammer that has a narrow head for hammering tacks and small nails.

If you mean the one that looks really useless, I used it twice in a lifetime, to bend or straighten metals. If you hammer something concave and round, the square-section front of the hammer will leave awful dents in the metal. But yeah, feels so useless. Even a whistle would have been a better tool for the second side of that hammer. I mean it works but it’s so niche.
