Why aren’t car-like 3 point seatbelts used in planes?

Many newer light aircraft do. The Cessna 172SP I fly has a 3 point seatbelt with airbags built into the belt. I suppose it’s more for keeping your body in the seat during turbulence because any head on collision in that is going to kill you
