Oversimplified… Sugar is easier to digest than fast. Your body is to used to it and doesn’t wanna switch.

Switching fuel sources is tough on you. Keto flu is real! But once you’re in ketosis, you actually lose a lot of cravings cuz you do digest your own fat. Yay.

I lost 30 lbs in 3 months watching tv in ketosis.

The reason there’s a trope about grandmothers overfeeding their grandkids is that widespread abundance of affordable food is a phenomenon that is less than four generations old.

Food motivation was baked into most of us by surviving ancestors.

Possible answer: because their body still needs new food for energy that it cannot get from their fat.

Your brain also often makes you feel hungry when in fact you’re actually just thirsty. If you’re used to eating whenever you feel hungry, you just end up eating because you think your body needs it when it doesn’t.

Obese people who are obese because of bad lifestyle choices usually tend to have a craving for food and it isn’t the same as hunger. Craving is when all the “feel good hormones” are released when it is satisfied. And hunger is just your body shouting for help because it doesn’t have energy to function.

And energy is usually given by carbs. Fat takes a lot of time to be broken down to a form where it can act as an energy substitute.

Because our body has no way of knowing that we have a McDonalds right across the street. It still thinks we’re in the Savannah of Africa, distance running our way to a gazelle for dinner. It knows it has energy now, but still needs to guarantee that tomorrow.

Your body doesn’t want to tap into your fat reserves unless it has to. Dates back to when it was difficult to reliably find food. So regardless of your weight, if you have an empty stomach, you’ll feel hungry.

Because your sense of hunger is mostly based on the contents of your digestive system, not your body fat.
