How is a glass of wine everyday good for you? 🙂

It’s not wine specifically, but alcohol in general. Some studies have shown that drinking small quantities of alcohol is associated with a decreased risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome.

In general a little bit of alcohol is healthier than none. The problem is that it’s difficult to determine how much “a little bit” actually is. It varies from person to person, depending on various factors. I’ve seen some sources say up to 2 drinks a day, while others say less than one drink a day.

Of course that doesn’t mean you can not drink for 6 days and then make up for it by doing all your weekly drinking in one evening. Drinking too much is never good for you.

It is not. There is proof to suggest that the antioxidants in wine are good for you.

But with that said, current consensus is that *any* alcohol is bad for you, and for virtually all drinks, the downsides outweigh any upsides. Drinking is always bad and should be avoided for optimal health.
