Eli5 Why construction workers start so early in the morning?

This isn’t so widely applicable, but industrial projects often have long hours, so there is no room on the clock not to start early. New construction often gets behind and management wants to play catch-up, and if it’s a maintenance outage, the unit ain’t making ridiculous money if it’s not running. For instance, I’m currently working 12.5 hours per day, every other Sunday off. I shouldn’t even be typing this right now.
