It’s actually a propaganda term designed to make Judaism seem less foreign to Christians. The two religions are almost completely distinct, point by point.

There is the Judeo Jewish tradition and
the Christian Tradition. Jews, Muslims , and Christians all worship the same God but there is a basic difference. Christians believe Jesus Christ is the son of God. Christians believe that the Virgin Mary in her act of submitting to Gods will is the new Eve and as a sinless person was able to give birth to the Son of God Jesus. That was the new Covenant. So basically Jews and Muslims dont believe that Jesus is the messiah but Christians do.

A big reason is that Christianity was developed out of Judaism. Both are considered two of the three religions of the Book. The third being Islam. There are more similarities than difference between the three.

I typically hear this when someone wants to say “non-muslim abrahamic religions” but don’t have the stones to admit what they’re trying to say

They are more similar to each other than comparing.. say… Christians or Hindus.

Jews lived in Europe for hundreds of years alongside Christians. They spoke the same language in their villages (tho Latin was spoken at the Catholic church) and worked pretty closely.

And they are both sons of Abraham.

Jesus was a jew, so it’d be fairly likely the stuff he preached would have a basis in that.
